DCS have specialised scanners to delicately handle the scanning of even the most fragile book and documents without any contact to the original pages.
These books and documents can be scanned in bi-tonal, greyscale or even full colour. Once scanned images can be converted into PDF, HTML or other formats making them instantly accessible on the web.
Other applications for this process include deeds and other bound legal documents, lab notebooks and minute books.
Book Scanning is now possible without removing the pages from the bindings or harming them in any way.
This is made possible by using a special book scanner: a dedicated piece of equipment from which captures the images and allows the software to straighten out the curvature of the text.

The geometrical correction used in book scanning also makes it possible to correct the effect of crushing of the characters and to preserve original distances.
This correction of the crushing of the characters is carried out thanks to an exclusive process making it possible to reconstitute the three-dimensional shape of the book.
